Autumn is well and truly here, a season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
We like to feel cosy with burnt orange tones, subtle reds and soft buttery yellows to bring the outside in with the colours of autumn.
We especially love this Mark Hearld Harvest Hare fabric from St Jude’s. It looks great on armchairs and footstools and makes a striking feature fabric for curtains and blinds to keep the cold at bay.
As the leaves begin to fall outside, choose a little luxury inside and opt for comfort. We have a selection of wools, plaids and tweeds in our showroom to keep you feeling snug!
Cosy up with layers and textures, soft silks and sumptuous velvets, plump pillows, the softness of a fur throw…and the glow of candlelight.
Luxurious velvet is always a winner, used on an armchair, a stool, a headboard, cushions or an opulent quilt.
We recommend velvet by Kate Foreman for pure luxury and quality.
This Fox & Hen wallpaper by Barneby Gates is great for this time of year. Two sworn enemies in one quirky print: the fox and the hen come together on a chicken wire-inspired trellis, perfect for hallways, the study or boot room!
We had the pleasure of working with Kim Finer from Prospect Crescent to help with the interior scheme and soft furnishings for the redevelopment of six luxurious serviced apartments in the centre of Harrogate.
Kim wanted to make the most of the building’s natural light and spectacular views across the town so we worked together on an action plan to choose furniture carefully to get the scale right and fabric textures and colours to look beautiful but act functionally for holiday makers.
We selected soft greys for a contemporary look and full-length plain curtains for elegance and to emphasise the ceiling height with modern eyelet finish.
Splashes of strong shades were used to add character and checked and floral cushions and throws injected a dash of colour, texture and pattern to the rooms.
We were delighted to assist stylist and art director Ann Broad and photographer Colin Poole from House Beautiful on a fantastic feature covering the apartments living / dining area in the October issue of the magazine.
Not a month goes by without Cabbages & Roses featuring in one of the glossy interior magazines. They have succeeded in combining the classic elegance of florals from the English country garden with a modern colour palette and beautiful linen base clothes.
We have been stocking Cabbages & Roses fabrics since 2010 and they remain one of our favourites.
You can now enjoy 10% off all Cabbages & Roses orders made online until 31st October 2014.
